Italicizing a word or phrase does not change the meaning…

Depends on context. Human language is extremely complex. A classic example of emphasis changing meaning–

• I said she stole my money.
• I said she stole my money.
• I said she stole my money.
• I said she stole my money.
• I said she stole my money.
• I said she stole my money.
