So in case you haven't been following the conference, Perl 7 has been announced. To quote brian_d_foy, a little tl/dr: 'Perl 7 is v5.32 with different settings. Your code should work if it’s not a mess. Expect a user release within a year.', but you should probably just read the whole post, since, you know, details. Also Preparing for Perl 7.
