At $work we extract static data from the DB at startup and load it into a hash in memcache, and retrieve it using key paths. Being able to query the data using SQL would seem to be just an implementation detail.

Possibly of interest:

• DBIx::Class::Cursor::Cached (oldie but goodie)


• DBD::Mem (new from Tim Bunce in 2020!)


• DBIx::TempDB (new from Jan Henning Thorsen of the Mojo core team)


• DBD::SQLite (extract from the main DB and create an in-memory DB for the life of the process)
