As a poor soul who has digested a tremendous amount of "strange and unfamiliar source-code written by other people long gone," the only thing that I can ask of you is that you, please, be as consistent as you can. You are talking to humans at this point, not language compilers. These "subsequent souls" are poring over your source-code without you (RIP?), and they appreciate your clues.
