Absolutely stupid question: "why does any of this have to be 'in memory?'"
The question seems to be ... I want to [...] have an array of how many times each int is in a pair.
So, what am I missing with SQLite? SELECT COUNT(*) FROM x WHERE int1 = ? OR int2 = ?
Where does this functional requirement demand the use of an in-memory data structure?
