A new year is here, but where?
The four to five is live, do i care?
A few will renew, but time is due,
The stuff is old enough, let's review.
The end of December i remember, a glowing ember.
Scoff at days off?! Been waiting since November!
Our mood ensued, and delicious food,
Even the restive were festive, no more feuds.
But i fear it's clear, the new year,
A slow start in part, but we're here.
Politics back on track, poised to attack
The anointed pointed, picked up the slack.
The new is bold, but old and cold,
Again and then, or so i'm told.
The end had a trend, people would bend,
It didn't stay, but the day, i await my new friends.
