What immediately pops into my head is the idea of a "show." This is a sequence of cards, simply: show_id, card_id, sequence. Each user record (kiosk, etc ...) then indicates what "show" he is supposed to see, and it makes it trivial to change the presentation for a group simultaneously, to switch shows on-and-off, and so on. Seems to me that'd be a lot more flexible.
