Thanks, I've already responded to that here - and I see you responded there as I was typing this. Before we go off starting a bunch of subthreads that will become difficult to follow, perhaps you could open a new question thread asking about how to mirror this Perl installation in a VM (both linking to the various posts so far and copying over the relevant content like the perl -V output).
