Related to "anticipated reciprocity": I guess a usual course of action is that new monks start with asking questions, or just monitoring the site, and at some point decide they've collected enough experience that they can contribute back. Or they find an opportunity to help someone who helped them before. That's also reciprocity, but not "anticipated".
