Minion might be a choice but if you need things to be scheduled "days ahead" it might not be my first choice. Minion is excellent for use in association with a web front-end for a work queue, and for handling work that in general a web-server process cannot handle directly. There are many other "job scheduler" packages available in Perl which might be more suitable to a "days ahead" situation and for one in which the workers are distributed across networked hardware. Keep looking around.
