Assuming (yes, that is usual the start of trouble), my fellow monk was right in their assumption of Spreadsheet::XLSX, I just want to add: STOP USING IT!!!

See this as a sign from above to replace its use with Spreadsheet::ParseXLSX + Excel::Writer::XLSX.
