We have all had the misfortune…

This is the third(?) time I’ve said this: it has never happened to me. Not once in 11 years. Other monks echoed my experience as well. I understand that this class of problem is possible because of the different domains not sharing auth cookies, however–

I just took a peek the form markup. It contains no URL content for the action so it will always POST to the “right” domain. Meaning it’s either PEBCAC maybe from clicking on hard coded links which transparently switch domain and it goes unnoticed, or bad browser behavior with cookies, or, less likely, PEBCAP.

Custom styles—one way: Re: CSS Show and Tell: Colored Code—are an immediate solution to the confusion point, it will look “wrong” when not signed in. Different text/buttons or maybe background in the textarea for Anonymous posts, as suggested already, would be nicer UI and would not require every user to take action and I’m all for that but not about to insist because COGTFO and I’m not going to code so I’m going to GTFO. :P
