I don't know the state of things on Windows "missing package managers" like Chocolate, but I was looking at how this was handle in hOMebrew. It seems they rely on the advice of using local::lib. I guess this is fine, BUT it seems to reason that since the normal package managers for the Linuxes, BSDs, etc package actualy modules - most usefully, those that have tricky compiled dependencies (e.g., Net::SSLeay, Tk, etc); that we should expect to see modules RTG, like brew install p5-whatever-module. Before I launch into the "somebody needs to do this" for Mac/Windows, I would appreciate some information on the correctness of my observation; that things are indeed missing from the "missing package managers". Ultimately, this could be a very powerful way forward for distributing Perl based applications on Mac and Windows - particularly of the GUI variety. TIA!
