This can be expressed without experimental features by a "double-negative" character class trick: 

    class of all characters that are
    [^-[:^punct:]]
     ^ ^
     | |
     | +--- and also not a not-punct (i.e., or is a [:punct:])
     |
     +--- not a hyphen
