Thanks. (Very-pseudo) random, but hopefully very fast and quite visual demo. Perhaps excluding outermost rows/columns from shuffle is required, otherwise illegal combinations can happen, such as:

  0 1 2         0 1 2         2 0 1
0 a b c       1 a b         1   a b
1 a b    ==>  2 a b    ==>  2   a b  ==>  ababaccab
2 a b         3 a c         3   a c
3 a c         0 a b c       0 c a b

Or, simply, no shuffle for 'aab' input.
