Greetings, Perl Monks!
I notice in my batch of news headlines for yesterday/today that the US Army is preparing to require SBOMs for new software by early next year. This jogged my memory that back in August 2023 there was a presentation by Salve Nilsen entitled "Software Bill of Materials (in the Perl/CPAN world)" (also as a YT video for now). Prior to that, there was a brief mention in the 2023 Perl Tool Chains Summit of SBOMs.
This is outside my limited experience and even more limited skill set but I am nonetheless wondering, how much traction SBOMs have gained in Perl and CPAN both? I'm not finding anything at CPAN but perhaps am searching incorrectly. When writing or updating Perl modules, are there some additional metadata needed in a specific file + file format?
