You can determine which one is actually used, with this method You can also preset the choice in the config.

Term::ReadLine::Gnu might not compile on win (???) but I remember Term::ReadLine::Zoid to be solid.

My hunch is that § has some line break semantics on Windows, but as I said can't test at the moment.

And nobody came up yet and replicated your problem 🤷🏻‍♀️
