I have a typical client/server setup using IO::Socket::SSL (client)/Net::Server::PreFork (server), which works very well, except for cases where the server side talks to some backend sub-systems which could take some time to build a response (like in several minutes).
I've added the typical work-around (server sends keep-alive packets to the client which are dutifully discarded), but I'm wondering whether there's a more elegant solution?
On the client side I've tried TimeOut => '3600' on the IO::Socket::SSL->new call, but that does not do the trick.
I'd appreciate any pointers.
