I Guess none of you know me, Let me introduce I am Gurudutt.J, working on perl for a long time now. I have a problem and I humbly request you to help me. I need to make a messenger kind of program. I need server program in perl which after a specified interval(programmable) will check with the database and fetch few records and update a client ( which could be in VC++ or VB) all these work through TCP/IP. I have got struck in the server end where I need the program to loopback like a timer callback periodically and fetch records from database. The connection must be intact whatsoever with the client, I have tried a multi threaded server but unfortunately it doesn't work!! Please reply soon!! Guru
