As mentioned by davido, there's currently no way to alter the nature of object comparison in Test::Deep. However, there's another module that might be of use to you: Data::Compare. It offers a way of deep comparing objects by way of plugins as shown by the documentation over there.

You can also look over the source to an included plugin Data::Compare::Plugins::Scalar::Properties, particularly - this compare sub.
