It appears that yes, Perlmonks has become intolerant and they censor anything and everything that does not agree with their opinion: Considered: marinersk: reap: Childish nonsense poorly masqued as discussion

This is very suspicious, as this is precisely how political think-thanks operate -- having one person (oiskuu) start the fight then having another (stevieb) attack and if that doesn't work, just get another sock puppet (marinersk) to delete the whole thread. There is simply no way of knowing who is real at Perlmonks and who is a sock puppet.
