Now your client can log in with a param of ticker and a value of yes. This will prevent your name from showing up in Other Users. The information is then tied to the cookie so if your client is running and you're browsing only the page loads from your browser will update the time of your last page view.
ie: http://perlmonks.org?op=login&user=vroom&passwd=perldog&ticker=yes would log me in.

Props to crazyinsomniac who submitted code to me for this and got me thinking about it. I ended up doing it my own way but it probably wouldn't have happened w/o him prodding me along by offering me some actual code.
