Hello All. Is it possible to open a file handle in realtime? I'm currently using cat to obtain info from the log. The script will look for a condition using an if statement and print if that condition is found. the log files are ranging from 00 - 23 GMT. It will be set to run in a cron job every minute. So I'd like to avoid getting repeated emails until the hour changes. Can you offer a suggested solution. Many thanks!!
my $cmd = "cat /pathtomylogs/2013/12/06/prod/prodlogs/`date +%H`"; open File, "$cmd |"; while (<File>) {
forgot to mention i can't use any cpan mods like File::Tail
