If you knew the Answer

How do you expect us to be able to answer a question that you never asked?

You asked how to get multiple values from a configuration value separated by spaces (or dots, or commas). You never mentioned newlines or said that changing the format of the configuration file was even an option. Instead, you confused people with the incredibly strange requirement to not use split or regular expressions.

We can only work with what you tell us, which was not enough.
