Update: Whoops; I just realized I misspoke. The editors can shift root nodes to most other sections (sadly, not to Tutorials). I'd suggest sending a /msg to one of them outlining the changes that are needed. Alternatively, Friars and above could consider the node for movement.

Yes, deeper things need to be changed. It may be easier when we're up to date with E2. In the mean time, it may help to break things into smaller, more discrete tasks.

Y'know, now that I think about it, that could be said for a great many things right now.
