Hi,

Looks "fine" to me , thats pretty much how sdl works,

however,

I would compare/contrast to https://metacpan.org/requires/module/SDL?sort=%b5%b52,1%d5%d5

As you should use argument passing instead of fake globals ... like so many tk apps :)
