Hi, after all the comments I thought I would share a news article I recently read.

Coding talent needed, degree optional...HackerRank finds that bootcamps and other alternatives to four-year degrees are now seen as viable

So it seems that languages are changing so fast now, that a new programmer who understands the basics, can go thru a 4 week training course suited for the job.
