that is a very rude response. it is exactly the kind of malicious spouting that caused me to not participate in active discussions here anymore. i am guessing that you are an engineer. if you are not an engineer you must spend a great deal of time around one or more of them since you have developed their lack of tolerance for other human beans. first of all, the person posting here is not a dba. i don't know if you are aware of it or not, but usually the dba will make corrections or suggestions when there is question as to the design of a table. second of all, unless that dba is a total jerk, they will make those suggestions with about 400 pounds more tact than you did. if you feel the need to criticize other people, maybe you could do it in a more constructive manner. i find your reply abbrasive and uncouth. if you cannot respond in a civilized manner, you will chase more users from this forum who do not wish to be abused by over-confident know-it-alls. now, maybe your suggestions are warranted, but maybe this person has simplified their post in the interest of proprietary information on the project, or maybe they did not have an extra twenty minutes to add in all the crap you seem to be unable to live without. so before you start suggesting people "brush up" on any of their skills, check the level of your mentor skills, and if they are not up to snuff, don't bother responding.
