Dear monks,

I am trying to read the contents of dynamically generated Entry wigets plus their "index", 1, 2 or 3, (I do not know a better term for it) based from the cursor position->the widget that has focus. My script works fine for reading the content of the Tk Entry widget that has focus (I implemented a pop-up menu), but I have no idea how can I get the "index" (1, 2 or 3) of the Tk Entry that contained that value. I would use it to perform tasks depending on the widget from which the value comes from (for examples 1 is prices, 2 names, and so on).

#!/usr/bin/perl use strict; use warnings; use Tk; my %EntryInput; my @Entry; my $mw = new MainWindow -title => 'Simple'; foreach (1..3) { $mw->Label(-text => $_)->pack(-side => 'left'); $Entry[$_] = $mw->Entry(-textvariable => \$EntryInput{$_})->pack(- +side => 'left'); PupupEnterField($mw, $Entry[$_]); } MainLoop; sub PupupEnterField{ my ($mw, $obj) = @_; my $menu = $mw->Menu(-tearoff=>0, -menuitems=>[ [command=>"Read value", -command=>[sub {my $EntryValue=$obj->get; +ReadEntryValue($EntryValue)}, $obj,]], ]); $obj->menu($menu); $obj->bind('<3>', ['PostPopupMenu', Ev('X'), Ev('Y'), ]); return $obj; } sub ReadEntryValue{ my $EntryValue=shift; print $EntryValue; #print the index of the Entry widget: 1, 2 or 3... }

Any suggestion?
