The CPAN survived a long time and grew to thousands of packages without Dist::Zilla and I doubt it's even used by a third of authors today so the comment amounts to FUD.

Wow, speaking of FUD, that's an impressive amount of mischaracterizations of what I said that you packed in there. Here's my original statement:

You can release by hand if you want. I don't recommend that because you're unlikely to be able to cross all the Ts and dot all the Is required by meta::cpan in order to properly index your module.

• Does not mention Dist::Zilla, but rather releasing by hand.
• Does not mention CPAN, but rather meta::cpan and its indexing/linking features.
• Twisting my words to make it seem that what I was saying was that CPAN's success depends on Dist::Zilla is total argumentative BS.
