Dear YourMother,

The symptoms of the cabal are:-

- the belief that a critic outside the group is wrong, perhaps coddled by support from others in the group

- blindness to the philosophy of logic, a lack of rigour in analysis.

- a propensity to throw criticism at others that belongs more appropriately with the self.

- a feeling of entitlement relative to others especially outside the group

- taking offence and getting angry at criticism, characterised by ill-considered retaliation.

Rather than pick at your post I will just say that it qualifies you for membership. It is your choice whether or not to continue exhibiting this behaviour - it has nothing to do with me, although I reserve the right to criticise it and its poisoned fruits if your group wades in with this behaviour as replies to my posts, important contributors or not (see symptom 4 above). Indeed the value of your contributions is apt to be damaged by opting in to the above behaviour. This thread is riddled with examples of your bad behaviour (I mean you, the group I am criticising).

update: note that the Jasper suggestion from marto came 7 minutes after his arrogant reaction to my suggestion. I criticise it because it fails to connect to Perl (upd: actually I didn't - I avoided criticising and tried to be neutral in style, nevertheless...), the group gets its knickers in a twist and loses it with wall-to-wall nonsense retaliation like this one (YourMother).
