If I hadn't blown off all my votes for the day long ago, I'd ++ you just for making an argument. (childish comments by me removed) It's not that I'm completely adverse to the idea of dot notation, so long as I can see the benefit. As I wrote in that part of the thread, I don't believe in changing something just for hell of it (more silly comments made to disappear).

I'm not, however, a big fan of dots. I tend to find it works the other way, where it becomes more of a hassle to read data with dots. The arrow sticks out at you and says 'look at me! I'm doing something here!', whereas little dots tend to get lost on the screen.

Time will tell, however, whether this was "just another Perl blunder" (when OO disappears in favour of the next big fad???).
