Well, php is not what I like .. its way too much limited. On the other hand this got nothing to do with Perl.

I beleve that it depends on how the php script was made. Was it just for POST method, or may be it does not matter. If it was just for POST method, than what you are trying to do will never work because you are trying to pass parameters via GET method (values stored after '?'). Values via POST method are contained in the message that browser sends to server.
