This was question was not immidatly available in the POD... Is it possible in this module (gd), or another module, to overlay one image on top of another?

Background, further explanation: I was told I was going to recieve a group of 96 icons that would have a certain background for a certain attribute of object, and a forground image based on the type of icon. (Think Red Alert: you have the type icon and a force (red blue gree)). I was to put the background image (red blue green) on a type icon. (I need to do this so I can access the images from java... FYI: I orignally told the (bleep) it would be a heck of a lot easier to do it in perl, but I lost that war... so now I'm trying to win a small battle with perl!)

Many thanks!
