Larry Wall will be giving a talk about Perl 6 tonight at the Silicon Valley Perl Mongers meeting in Mountain View. The talk is from 7pm-9ish and we might possibly go out for drinks/dessert/snacks afterwards. Directions and further information can be found at the svpm site (scroll down to 'Next Meeting'). If you go, keep an eye out for me, I'll be wearing a blue perlmonks t-shirt (Update: s/mongers/monks/ per newrisedesigns).

Meeting announcement follows:

Subject: Reminder: Perl Mongers Larry Wall talk Tue, March 5 at 7 pm!

Fellow Perl Mongers:

Just a reminder:

Larry Wall, original author of Perl, will talk about Perl6 Tues, March 5 at 7 pm at sv.pm.org. This event is also a fundraiser for the Perl Foundation to sponsor Larry, Dan Sugalski and Damian Conway for 2002 to continue development on Perl6 and do general Perl advocacy.

If you're working and can afford it, the recommended donation is at least $100. So please bring your checkbook! And your Perl books if you want them autographed by Larry.

Perl Foundation Registrations & Donations https://donate.perl-foundation.org/

This event will be in the Netscape Cafeteria in Mountain View (see URL in my .sig for directions.)

Also, if you're an employer looking for Perl programmers, we have several Perl people looking for work, so please reply with some information on your requirements.

Tell your Palm Pilot! Bring a Friend!

Thanks, James.
