You can't see replies to the node you posted earlier, because there aren't any yet. It's not uncommon for a node to go without a reply for a couple hours, especially if the poster's intentions are questionable, as rdfield pointed out.

With regards to your original question, Mail::Bulkmail would be my recommendation. In the future you may want to elaborate on your legitimate task in advance so less trusting people won't doubt your intentions :)
