Update: BECAUSE IF YOU'D READ THE DOCUMENTATION FOR kill YOU'D SEE THAT kill 0, $pid DOESN'T REALLY DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN MAKE SURE THAT THE PROCESS EXISTS.
