WRT to the outdated PPM library: I've been pleasantly surprised that a number of PPMs I've been maintaining at openinteract.sourceforge.net are now in the ActiveState-supported library. This includes Class::Date, Class::Accessor (and dependencies), TimeDate, AppConfig, Class::Singleton, Test::Simple, Lingua::Stem, File::MMagic and probably one or two more. I don't have my ear to Win32 doings, so I don't know if this is a concerted effort to expand the scope of the PPM library or whether this is part of the normal maintenance.
