Hola Monks,

I am searching for the best way to do lite-weight compression and/or encryption (even though I don't know SSLeay, it seems like a lot to install, etc. I am sure it has a ton of functionality though)

I was somewhat surprised to not find: IO::Socket::INET::zlib or something like it...I did find DBI::Proxy Server, which uses RPC::PlServer and it has some built-in functionality to do this. And I could call a function to compress and uncompress the data manually. Is there a reason this hasn't been done? Or is it normally done in a way I am not aware of?
