I like Mail::Mailer - very easy to use and it seems pretty dependable. The drawback is that I don't believe that it's cross platform.

my $mailer = Mail::Mailer->new("sendmail");
$mailer->open({From => "$from",

                           Subject => "$subject",
                       })
        or die "Can't open: $!\n";
print $mailer $body;
$mailer->close();
