My more cynical side thinks that this won't be a priority until the SOPW etc. start getting hit with questions along the lines of "Help! I followed the docs and my code still doesn't work" :-) -my more cynical side also responds to this with "as if!" :)
I agree though, sooner or later updating the docs in some way will become imperative, whether with the introduction of perl 6 or before. If an automated update of the existing docs is not feasible then I think replacing them with links to perldocs is the solution, a monastery without a library would be unthinkable!
