I just read Avoiding a second click. When I was there, I voted on some nodes. When I saw the reputations of the nodes I had voted on, I was shocked. It incited me to embark on a petulant frenzy.
The node asks for a way to avoid processing the same form twice, and the writer specifies a need for a non-javascript solution. He then reiterates that he needs a Perl only solution.
What sort of responses did the poster get? Javascript and more Javascript! Ok, unhelpful answers are par for the course, in any forum like this. But, why were these posts rated so high (reputations of between 30 and 40) when some of the nodes that answered the question were rated in the 20s?
I don't mean to offend the monks whose nodes I've linked to. Sometimes I get a bit hasty and post replies that don't answer the question (or shudder, even give bad advice). To err is human, right? My beef is with the people that upvoted the bad nodes, they are targets of my ire, they can get angry at me and downvote me until I drop a few levels. I miss getting new powers...
end of rant.
