Even without single quotes it is not working. My code is like this:

        $sLastMsg = $xTelnet->lastline();

        print STDERR "\nERROR_MSG::$sMsg";

        print  STDERR "\nLAST_MSG::$sLastMsg";
        return;
    },
    Prompt =>'/[\%\#\>\$] $/',);
