The big thing that is missing with Perl is kickbacks. Perl needs some perky young sales reps that can take corporate bigwigs out to lunch and dazzle them with powerpoint presentations and Pacoware version 6.0 Now with scrubbing SOAP bubbles cloth briefcases and in the case of Fortune 500 accounts games of golf where big envelopes full of $$$ can be discretely passed. Where did companies get the idea that throwing millions at technology while treating their programmers like surfs is going to achieve anything of value?
