I've had issues with using the full keyname HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE in most cases replacing that with the shortcut LMachine works better on remote pcs. 
my $remote_key = $Registry->{"//$machine/LMachine/SYSTEM/".
                     "CurrentControlSet/Services/".
                      "allisbus/Parameters/Session"}
