Hmmmm... At the moment, my soundtrack consists of various bits by:
- MC 900FT Jesus
- Better Than Ezra
- The Dead Kennedys
- Frank Black
- Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
- Soul Coughing
- Yoko Kanno and the Seatbelts
- Radiohead
- The Ramones
- Fishbone
If I'm really writing code, I lean toward electronica
(Boards of Canada, Chemical Brothers, etc.) as I find I
don't really focus on it like I do music with lyrics and
melody... =-) When I need a pick-me-up, I go with ska.
Less Than Jake, The Mighty, Mighty Bosstones, Buck-O-Nine,
Skankin' Pickle and the like can really rip me out of a
funk.
