I know a similar question was posted a long time ago, but it's not quite the same as my question.
My question is that I wish to search a regex from the back. Now, I realize that I can reverse the string being sent, and then reverse my search criteria, but... i.e. I want to take off an ending from a word, 'ed', from a word 'educated'. now, if I do my $word = 'educated'; $word =~ s/ed//i; I should wind up with a word like "ucated", which is obviously not what I want. (it being grammatically incorrect is beside the point.)
Any ideas, or do I have to reverse everything?
