Several months ago, I posted this feature request in the Perl Monks Discussion area. Today I noticed the "Make Your Petition" area, which now appears to be a more appropriate place for the original suggestion -- so I'm posting this pointer in case the previous node went unnoticed.

to format your post, it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":
