Wrap the command line parameters in quotes (or otherwise escape the spaces), so they do not cause the text to be seen as multiple arguments:

myprog.pl -h <host> -d "DD/MM/YYYY HH:MM:SS" -e "DD/MM/YYYY HH:MM:SS"
