Friends,

I am somewhat melancholy today, as I am sure many of you are (or worse), even though I didn't know anyone personally who was directly affected by last years events. The reason I wanted to post this message though was to remember and say "thank you" to the other monks here. When I got into my office a year ago, the first I heard about what had happened was from the chatterbox. Over the next couple of hours, several monks, including me, chatted, discussing what and who we knew. For the rest of my life, my answer to "where were you when you heard about 9/11?" will be "Perl Monks".
